Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) is a well established product in the construction and furniture industries. MDF is a manufactured panel product formed by reducing hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres. It is combined with wax and resin under heat and pressure to form a solid wood panel that is structural but denser than plywood or other particle boards. A MDF's precision machining and finishing properties make it a preferable product in UK manufacturing.
MDF is manufactured to specific tolerances, making it a diverse product that can be engineered to a certain performance level. Its smooth face surface accommodates the finishing skills of painting, lacquering as well as the application of melamine, laminate & wood veneers.

Panel Cutting Service
|
We offer a panel cutting service on our ply, mdf and sundeala panel products where we can cut the 2440 x 1220mm sheets to size for you.
We can only cut strips and panels.
We can't cut angles, apetures (holes/panels into the middle of the sheet) or angled pieces.
The blade is 4mm thick and so must be taken into account when calculating how many pieces you want to get from a sheet. The sheet sizes will be in the description of the panel that you are purchasing.
We will only cut panels purchased from us, and you must purchase the cutting service at the same time as ordering your panels.
Each cut is £1.00 + vat. Please enter how many cuts you need in the quantity box, and the sizes that you require in the comments box when ordering.
We will check that your requests are possible before we cut the sheets and will contact you to confirm the total price of your order before we take any money.

MDF - Bendy
|
It has a smooth pre sanded (120 grit) surface, which makes it ideal for painting, veneering or laminating. Combine this with the consistency and dimensional stability of the high quality MDF. It has become the preferred bendable material for many applications including: columns, counter fronts, wavy walls, ceilings, stage and film sets and commercial cabinet making.
It can be attached directly to a framework or used to surface another material such as bending plywood. Alternatively, using the double skin technique, two sheets can be glued together to create freestanding double sided curves, which enable greater design flexibility.
It can be used to fabricate lightweight components. Also, it can be used in conjunction with bending plywood to create components where structure, impact resistance and screw holding ability is important.
